Hello all-
I'm new to the forum.
I have a client with some Eames shell chairs dated 1974. They are original in an orange/red leather and in very good shape. They also have the HM logo and original tags on the bottom. If anyone can give me an idea of their value- it would be helpful. There are 4 large chairs with a 4 leg base and 1 small side chair with a caster base.
Thanks!

Google is your friend...in all fairness this should take you less than an hour to find out yourself. If they are your client and you want to impress then do a bit of googling and hit them with some real info.
I would start with an image search, then an ebay search especially the advanced search "completed listings" option and between the retail price and the ebay prices you should have some idea of either the insurance value or the price they could potentially achieve if auctioning their chairs.

Eames shell chairs
Thank you-
I did start with Google Images and basic internet research for background information on the chair and potential value before I posted this question to the forum.
Your information about Ebay was very helpful.

Glad to see you are going...
Glad to see you are going for it....
Next up I would go to the Live auctioneers website ( register if needs be) do a search for your chair model using the search box, when the answer comes up you then get an option to look at "sold" items....this should really help bring you closer to your answer.
ps: watch the sale date / year as things sold around 2007 will scew results as the market was hot, you should see a difference generally post 2008...look for later results and see if they are beginning to even out and take your average from those.
