Several people have been asking what is a Eames Herman Miller chair really worth?
. I know a few things a bout them, as I own seveal in my office and my home and we recover a lot of the older ones , I can tell you a new Santos Palisander chair from Herman Miller and there network of stores List for 4700.00 and sells for around $4000.00 delivered to your front door.

Several people have asked me if I would buy a used chair from 1995 for $3800.00 my answer is NO !!! , Why take the chance of spending that kind of money for any of the chairs made in the 90's as they are not Rosewood., and do not have the value and never will have the value , The ones from the late 70's and 80's have the most value as those were the last years of the Rosewood chairs . The new chairs made out of Santos Palisander ( and i do not know what that is) are worth every penny as that is a beautiful veneer and covered with very nice leather and if you want Edelman leather you can pay for a up charge of around 800.00
The chairs from the late 1950's 's to the early 70's are worth between 1500 to 2500.00 ... almost all of them need repair... 1) new leather as the old is so dryed out 2) The shock mounts are ready to give after 40 years and need to be replaced by a professional. So when viewing ebay do not get excited as some of these chairs are so overpriced. Just be smart and keep a good eye out. and say to your self, am I better off spending a few extra bucks to get something that will have real value or just do I want to save a few bucks, jump in and by this 90's chair. and don't forget those people on ebay will charge a 150.00 to ship the chair to you. Good luck
