Olek does dozens of shock repairs per month
The two bad reviews are among more than a dozen filtered reviews, this is about Yelp selling ads for companies that appear on Olek's libeled reputation. The two bad reviews are from a person that had a California company repair her broken Eames Lounge, that fell apart at the old breaks, the California company refused to repair it, and she expected us to do it free. The other bad review is from a client that was upset that we did not repair a floor scratch quickly enough.
Olek warranties their shocks, and anything that happens to the chair if a shock should fail, for 15 years. Not one of Olek's shocks has failed yet.

Olek Lejbzon I know for a fact that they do great work.
I have seen a lot of work done by them and it is amazing.
I know Hume does nice work. very expensive and a long wait.
If you are in the Northeast I would use Olek. I am not a paid spokesman for this company or have any conection to the company just seen this guys work.

Just note that Herman Miller's current way of replacing the shock mounts differs significantly from the original method. Personally I still prefer the old school way.

try to diy
if you are a diy type, you might try fixing them yourself. mine failed (glue failure) and i repaired them with "goop", a rubbery adhesive from lowes, home depot, etc. it has now been 5 years or so and they are good as new. i think the trick is to not overclamp and squeeze out all the glue ... a 1/32" layer seems about right.
n.b. that's not to say they wont fail tomorrow but it worked for me. it's certainly worth a try and a tube of goop is a heck of a lot cheaper than miller's price. YMMV!!

We are in Soho with a broken eames lounge chair.
I have read on a couple internet sites about a company called Olek. They seam to have a good way of repairing this type of lounge chair.
My concern is that the old factory rubber bumpers are replaced with pieces of wooden.
Has anyone had this done and are happy with the final result.
