Hi.

I am new here. i just purchased an Eames plywood lounge chair and just closely inspected it. Everything looks great with the exception of the screws on the underside of the front legs.

The screws with the nuts are loose. I've tried tightening with the wrench and the philips screwdriver. It appears as tight as it can be, but it's still loose.

What's the deal? Is this typical? Is there another way to fix this? I don't want to risk damaging the chair, or pack it up again to send back to the vendor.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Idea
Add washers, if there aren't any already.
BTW, is the chair new?

If the chair is new, it really shouldn't have such issue. I suggest you contact the vendor.

Graham Mancha
Any time you need any Eames related parts you should contact Graham Mancha in the UK (google that name) and email him. He is great and has everything and fair prices considering almost every part is OEM.

thanks. i gave this another go. it appeared that the screw was hitting the underside of the seat and that was why it was loose. i just tightened the nut underneath.
other thing i noticed was that all 4 legs don't touch the surface. the right front leg appears to be slightly shorter. is this typical? for a thousand dollar chair, i expect all legs to touch the floor.
