No pins on my mid-seventies version.
The shock mount came off the back panel clean. It had already been replaced by HM along with the others and seemed to be in great shape, so I chiseled and scraped the adhesive residue from the panel, reglued it with PC-7, and have had no further issues in the five years since.
Edit: Reminded by my post on the previous thread, it was the seat pan mount, not the lower back panel.
Good Question...
Good question, I just went to verify on some old mounts we have. What appears to be pins is simply adhesive that traveled up a hole in the shock mount. The holes in the shock mounts are from the molding process to help position the metal plate inside the mount. There maybe a slight mechanical lock with the holes and the adhesive, but they are not inserted pins. I was able to slide a couple out of a old shock mount, crushed one with a pair of pliers and burned the other, it just adhesive.
