`I ave found a vintage Eames where the owner removed the cushions.
What is a fair ballpark price for the rosewood shell only? $100? $500? $1000? $2000?
Can someone help me find where to order a full set of replacement cushions and arm rests? I'd like to see what the total cost would come out to compared to buying a complete chair in the $3500 range.

Question-
Are you being calculatedly obnoxious, or are you just a nitwit?
(in all good humor)

I am analyzing a possible transaction. The costs of buying just the shells for $1000 and the incremental cost of the cushions compared to buying a complete chair.
What part of this thread is obnoxious to you? What part of this do you not understand or find offensive? Are you able to add and subtract numbers? That is what's going on here. Too complex for you? Only a mental patient would find this obnoxious.

It seems like full replacement cushions are $3000.
It seems like full replacement cushions are $3000.
http://www.smartfurniture.com/products/Replacement-Cushion-for-Eames-Lou...
This doesn't include armrests either.
They are $700 at Hume.
$1000 shells
$3000 cushions
$700 armrest
That brings the total to $4700.
LOL, the verdict is that just the shells themselves are literally worthless. Use them as firewood, b/c I would not pay $0 for them b/c you still need to pay $3700 for the cushions and armrests. This still exceeds the value of a mint condition refub by $500. For $3300, you can get a complete vintage chair with brand new cushions. Interesting.
If you had a vintage Eames that needed new cushions, you're better off using it for firewood (literally, and buying a refurb off Ebay for $3300. Gotta love the throwaway economy in which we live!

After speaking to HM, they...
After speaking to HM, they said a full replacement set of cushions AND armrests are $3300 list. I will arbitrarily round that down to $3000 retail.
This adjusts my numbers above:
$1000 shells
$3000 cushions & armrest
That brings the total to $4000.
No thanks, the conclusion is not changed.
It is still more cost effective to buy a restored chair for $3300.

Just when
we thought you finally left. You must have -1 common sense. Look dude it's simple, either fork over the dough for a mint original complete one, or go home. I thought you were gonna buy two chairs money bags? Depending on your mood. Why don't you do this homework on wordpad, instead of wasting everyone's time here? In the end you come up with your own answers with or without our help anyway, and call everyone an idiot who doesn't come up with the same answer you do.
You're trying to Frankenstein shit together to cut costs, and in the end you're gonna be left with junk that doesn't bolt up right, doesn't fit together right, doesn't match to true colors and specs, and so on, and so on. It will be easily noticed by anyone trying to buy it from you later looking for an original chair like that, and you're just shooting yourself in the foot when it comes time for resale. What you don't get is that you're actually gonna be costing yourself "more" money in the long run. Trying to use your economics class skills to build a mocked up $5,000 mid century work of art for $1,000 does not compute. The two do not jive, and never will.
If you can't afford that chair, then quit pretending like you can to impress people. Only dumbasses, and steampunks wanna buy butchered, botched up shit. Save your money, and buy the best. Quit trying to make silk out of a sow's ear. The bitterness of low quality lingers long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten. Remember that.

Like that
Eric. Is that a new one? Kinda looks like a Pulsar. Speaking of HP though. Here's one on ebay right now with 6 days left, and it's at $550. Looks just like yours.
Something you very rarely, if ever see in your life is green led. I'm not sure how many were made, but it was very few compared to red. Just a module alone can bring $300-$500 (maybe more) depending on what watch it matches up to. I do not have a green led as of yet, but one day I'll stumble across one.

That is certainly quite...
That is certainly quite rare, with the box and all. And the green LED is stunning. I'll have to keep an eye open for one. Here's one a bit different. An Omega LCD.
Now where is Aunt Mark? A morning snappy is forthcoming, I hope.

Looks like onegroovydude...
Looks like onegroovydude agreed with me that restoring a chair is a foolhardy economic decision. Finally, he has said something correct! I will email the seller of the vintage shells that he was a fool to throw away his cushions, as the shells alone are now literally worthless. What a buffoon!
