Eames lounge seems to me to look best with the ottoman. Do you guys think the Womb chair will look deprived without the ottoman?

You is right, my man
Yes, I see that Modernica does sell the ottoman, but they don't show a picture of it.
I'm in Minneapolis, so if I ordered from DWR's website, because they have a store in Minnesota, I'd pay tax. Also, I believe they charge for shipping.
Awhile back, I was looking for a medium square Eames table for my record room and the only place that showed this particular size was HIVE.
I could've ordered it from any Herman Miller dealer but only HIVE showed it as being available.
I have ordered a pair of Yellow Bertoia chair seatpads from Highbrow, and they were terrific to deal with. HIVE was swell too.
I often check out HOME OFFICE SOLUTIONS because they have a clearance page. I bought two 72" George Nelson slat benches for only $150.00 each! There was a slight glue job on one of them, but that's alright for me. What a savings!
Oh yes, a friend of mine said that you really need the ottoman for the Eames Lounge and the Betroia Bird Chair, due to the angle of the chair; the Womb is just fine without having the ottoman.

An Eames without ottoman is acceptable if you have 2 of them and they are perpendicular. Then there is room for only one ottoman.

Tulipman is correct they do look good in twos with out ottomans, or as a accent chair in a business office.
I saw one last week in my attorney's office and i told him, it look good next to the sofa. He thought it was just a little to conferable for the office with the ottoman, I agree,

I love the eames lounge ...
I love the eames lounge chair with the tine life stool next to it,
It seems that it was made for it cause it is the same hight as the arms,
Question We know that Ray Eames designed these stools for the Time Life Bldg in 1961, does any one have any idea how they were displayed? and where where they displayed?
, As you are aware all that own these stools know they are not very heavy and they could disappear real easy by thieves who could walk off real easy with them.

I do not know why the text did not show up but here it is again
We know that Ray Eames designed these
stools for Time and Life Bldg in 1961
Where did they display these stools?
They are so light a thief could walk
off with them . They are the perfect size of the lounge chair arm like it was designed for it but we know it was not.

I think it looks just swell without it. Actually if I were to buy one it would be without. The Womb is so big to begin with, I wouldn't want to increase it's visual space with the ottoman. But, that's me, who lives in small quarters.
It's odd to see the Eames without the ottoman, but I am of the opinion that it could be fine depending on the interior/use. It's all in how you do it. BUT - for me, I would have it. I wouldn't want to have to buy one later and it not exactly match.

Get the Womb
Most of the lounge chairs are made to sit down and use the ottoman.
The Eames Lounge chair is beautiful...no question about it, but due to its seat angle, you really need the ottoman.
If I hasn't bought my Grasshopper chair and ottoman, I would've bought the Womb chair and ottoman. Or possibily the Bertoia Diamond chair and ottoman. (Not the Bird chair...it too sits too low for my tastes, tho it sure it beautiful looking.)
My one issue with the Eames Lounge is the fact that it's such a typical icon...every modern home has to have one, and the fact that so many knockoffs are out there, I just thought I would instead get something a bit more visually different.
Since Knoll no longer makes the Grasshopper chair and the fact that Modernica swears up and down that they've straightened the inner frame, I'd go for one.

Choose your Favorite
After reading the other poster?s opinions, I went around the house and ?visited? with each of my chairs. In so doing I reconfirmed my original suspicion; which is that, despite their pedigree my most comfortable chairs are not icons and to add further insult, they tended also to be really inexpensive.
I share this not to sway your choice, but rather to offer my perspective. I consider each of my chairs (of which I am unduly fond) to be functional works of art. I think of them as sculpture. I enjoy them as pieces of art which I get to arrange, stage, light and generally play with in my own home. I derive as much pleasure from looking at them as I do from sitting in them. At different times I enjoy some pieces more than others; although of course, I love them all equally. 🙂
When contemplating the purchase of an expensive piece of furniture comfort is important, but only one aspect of the decision. I feel that you are not really just buying a piece of furniture. I suggest that if you were there are scads of truly comfortable chairs to choose from that are exponentially less expensive. But face it, they are not as compelling to those of us with the affliction.
So ultimately I hope that you choose the piece which will bring you the most happiness. Buy the chair that will make you smile when you walk through the door. Buy the chair that You always wanted; because next year, or next month, you will want another piece to keep it company.

Big difference
I now agree with Barry at first i did not.
I called a friend who has a Womb chair and they said the same thing you did. to a T
at first they bought just the chair from Knoll and they used the chair on a daily basis but were very disappointed in the way the chair sat with anyone in it ,
They bought the ottoman, and were lucky enough to match the fabric with no problem , They said they could not be more pleased with the way the chair sits now, it made a big difference and in their opion that is the way it should have been from the beginning ,
I thought in my opion that it was one of those chairs that you could or could not get the ottoman your choice, but now I know , the ottoman makes a big difference.

It seems more and more people collect chairs , I for one do, I have almost everyone that is worth owning , before you email me
The ones i own are chairs i have collected for 25 years and they are the major designers of the 20 century that you would want to own.
after all I am not the Vitra Chair Museum (i sometimes think I am)
I love them and threat them like art unfortunately i do not talk to them .. cause i am too busy talking to my three dogs and one cat, but it is fun and i change them around all the time as i have some in the warehouse that i replace every 6 months.
I got a invitation to DWR party in Denver the guest of honor are Susan Saarinen, Carla Hartman and Celia Bertoia
Carla is the granddaughter of Charles and Ray Eames and collects chairs (I wonder why) she has around 400 chairs most in a warehouse she says the bulk is from the 19th and early 20 century but lives with all of Grandpas stuff and other modern designers, she has me beat by 250 but Charles Eames was not my Grand Dad , she mirrors what we all are thinking about chairs they are fun, and have something to say (her opion) any way Chairs are a great investment and when you start collecting them you can not stop.
I think it is self explanatory who the other two ladies are and who they are related to, should be a fun night in Denver at DWR
