I just came across this chair on craigslist and don't know much history about it. The lady who sold it to me told me said that she got this from her grandfather who was D.J. DePree.
There is no marking for Herman Miller but she mentioned that she suspect it to be a prototype or of that sort. There is a faint number mark on the bottom which I believe reads "14312" which indicates that there was once a tag or something there.
I would appreciate any info or input on vitrification of the chair. Did I hit a big find or got ripped off by a rich old lady?
Thanks.
