I just purchased these, I think, terrakotta coloured La Fondas. They have no ventilation holes in the bottom so I was thinking about removing the upholstery of one of the shells, quite curious how they might look like... I have never seen this colour before and there are rare pictures, so it might be quite difficult to find a matching side- or armselig, what do you think?
Should I try to remove the hopsack and the foam?

heard on the news today about this guy who shot this lion
baffling how a person would be inclined to inflict such unnecessary violence

Well, objet, that particular hunter is a dentist after all.

Jonny13,
Here is what I think.
First the chair. Nice piece. Exercise a minimally invasion cleaning of the base and the fabric. You may discover the various methods for said cleaning at wikiHow. There is no need to inquire here. This is a "learning cure". It is no longer important what I think other than do not concern yourself about items you do not possess and everything you have not seen is not rare.
objectworship,
In the words of the "Godfather", Walter Palmer the dentist from Minnesota should be made to suffer as Cecil the lionhas suffered. Now this is justice.
The consequences "real or imagined" have already begun for this "criminal" His days of $50,000.00 a lion will be coming to a end as his dental practice collapses. As an added bonus, his family and the things he loves will be made to suffer as a result of his actions .
As an aside, the natives that beheaded and skinned Cecil took the meat to their families. This is a supplement to their meager wages. This type of work and food is "beneath" the guide.
It is unfortunate the Selous Scouts no longer patrol this and the surrounding area.

You shouldn't try to turn a duck into a chicken by cutting down its beak.
Also, STOP FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION.
chair looks quite presentable from here

The foam is glued down, so it will be impossible to remove cleanly, and you will not be able to match the finish of a production non-upholstered shell.

While you were talking about lions and dentists...

There were just 3 stripes tape and a little bit of glue on the sides... Easy to remove with acetone! Is this colour terracotta? Looks more like magenta or blood red (dentist-style...)!

The chair is the lion, you are the dentist. While skinning the chair may not have exactly killed it per se, I remain of the opinion that surgery was unnecessary and reckless.
