I've only seen pictures. I've never set or lounged in one. Two questions:

1. Are they designed so that you can either sit up right with feet on floor, or lounge with feet up? Or are they strictly loungers?

2, Are they comfortable?

I don't know from experience, but from what I hear they are not comfortable at all. I think there was a thread about it here in the past ...

Uncomfortable to the sit...
But not uncomfortable to the eye... Something should be mentioned about a chair/lounge that is visually stunning as sculpture and OK as an occasional perch... Not every piece in your home has to follow the form and function rote... Unless you want it to...

i bet they would be comfortable for the 4'11" ers - but yea, if would make a great entry way chair in a 5 million dollar house that you never use. It is pleasing to the eye

You could
throw the mail on it -- and sit down long enough to change your muckalucks. Or, if you had a very large dining table and few guests, they could be dining chairs ? Room for Fifi at your side ? Semi-reclined a la Cleopatra ? "Peel me another grape, Beulah. . .!"

that's hillarious. my vote is to use them as side chairs, with a custom 72" marble saarinen table
