Hello all - Strange one this. I have an Eames LCM by Vitra, probably an early 1990s chair. However, the angle of the back rest seems waaaay out. Any ideas what the problem might be here? I have checked the frame closely and can't see that it has been bent/forced back at all? The back rest looks as though it is sat about 3-4' back from where it should be.

Any ideas?

Yes
The lower portion of the vertical bar should be close to perpendicular to the ground.

I agree - just wondering how...
I agree - just wondering how on earth that has happened?! Is it too risky to try and bend it back? Is pretty much useless how it is 🙁

Could be
A production flaw... I've seen vintage frames that were not perfectly true before.
