Eames Fully Upholstered Shell  

I love the upholstered...
I love the upholstered version, although they fetch much less ... but they are comfy and I like the increase of color contrast between the shell and fabric.
It looks like they are reissuing the la fonda bases too?!
The covers aren't removable like the early ones are they?

they just announced it on Vitra's facebook page haha. They launched them today- not sure when they are available. Yeah, I noticed they started putting LaFonda bases on them last year. I have no idea how they are constructed, if cover is removable or not, but I agree in terms of comfort they are wonderful. I have a white shell w/ red vinyl (with a tear in the seam) in storage that I would really like to get reupholstered and put it on my rocker base instead of the poly-HM version. Its just it's so damn expensive!

well that's sad. looks like they quit making the regular la fonda chair. that had been available in europe for the past few years. now it's gone...guess low sales. hmm....
