Dear all,
A full-original authentic Eames DTM-2 table in good vintage condition is hard to find. Manufacturer Modernica offers a kind of knock-off named "Case Study Folding Table - square". I seriously consider to purchase the table of Modernica. However, is it a good alternative to the Eames DTM-2?
Modernica claims its Case Study Folding Table square follows the strict adherences of the Eames original. But is this true? What are your opinions and views on this? Is the Modernica table a successful copy?
Thanks for your replies!

Images Eames DTM-2
Forgot to post images of the Eames DTM-2 for good comparison with Modernica's case study folding table square.

looks like...
the modernica reproduction is faithful enough...
But I don't think its THAT hard to find an authentic vintage one of these, and they are not extremely expensive. At that price, I would hold out for vintage. Perhaps patience will pay off?
I am surprised that Modernica has re made them.
To me, if you're going to go with something that is so "utilitarian" looking, the only thing that saves it is if it is a vintage example.
Copy looks decent enough though, just gets too near the cost of vintage...

One more question
With what (wood) finish was the table top of the Eames DTM-2 table originally designed? With white laminate, black laminate, walnut veneer or walnut wood? Or another finish i havent mentioned?
Thanks!

...
There was a walnut table that had blonde wood legs. Birch legs. "Two-tone".
(edited because I forgot we were talking about folding leg table... sheesh)
Not sure what all the combos were in the folding version. I have seen ones with a light natural grain plywood top though, along with the white version.
