I have a recently purchased Eames DCM in Walnut and need a new full set of the Rubber Shockmounts replaced.
I dug around and found a spot in Venice, Ca. [Hume Restoration] that wants to charge me $250?!
Is this a reasonable price for this chair? I welcome any suggestions as to where in LA I may be able to go to get this chair repaired.

There is a guy in Lansing Michigan that has done them for me in the past. Although he collects Midcentury modern, he also does these repairs on the side. Shipping your backrest probably wouldn't be that expensive. His name is:
John Patenge Furniture - (517) 485-7831. I believe he charged me $55 for each of my LCM back rest repairs.
He has shock mounts, and uses the correct glue to keep them on.
Hope this helps,
get the pucks or shockmoun...
get the pucks or shockmounts from Alfi Hume and have anyone put them on just remember to get the old rubber off completly, I hate to hear anyone make a big deal out of this job It just has to been done right and not get in a hurry and let it cure out for 1 week before using them,
and use good epoxy from Ace hardware
Hume he will give you instructions on how to do, the pucks should be about 40 a set. last time i check with Alfi.
