Hello, allI recently came across a consulting company selling off some of their old furniture. I spotted what I think is a more recent DCM but without markings or tags. They did have two other oak DCMs with the Herman Miller black bar sticker on the bottom, but I was more interested in this chair because of the patina. Thoughts?

Looks authentic.  Not sure of the wood veneer type.

Huh, it does look like oak.  I've seen this on tabletops but not chairs.
With these chairs, I think it often happens that when people think it's oak it is actually ash.  But that sure looks like oak-

The only things that bother me are that the lobes on the ends of the top crosspiece of the frame are a bit rough-looking and a slightly different shape than on my '90's set. That and the way the wrinkled veneer on the underside of the seat appears tortured into shape as if it wasn't quite flexible enough.
Otherwise, everything looks good. My gut says authentic and maybe unusual for the oak veneers. An expert might be able to estimate age based on the screws, lock-washers, and shape of the aforementioned lobes.
