I have a pair of Bruksbo sofa's (one long one a love seat). There are a couple of cushions that are fairly beat. I think I will take the best cushions and put them on the longer sofa and then try to dye the beat cushions for the love seat.

Has anyone tried this with leather? Success? Terrible failures? I'm thinking black to minimize the chance of blotchy-ness. The cushions are otherwise in pretty good shape (no holes, etc.) but look pretty beat, not simply lived in.

There's spray-on dye that isn't really a dye but more of a coating. I've seen it peel off both on re-done leather and new leather. It is not a pretty sight.
There's aniline dye which is a real dye that soaks into the leather and colors it to some depth. I've used it on wood and I know that wood cannot have any previous finish on it other than dye, of course. I would guess leather is the same? But it does look good when done correctly.
Have you tried Leather CPR? I've never used it but a lot of people swear by it.
I've used Pecard Leather Dressing and really like it---it's made for riding tack. I revived some old aniline dyed Coach bags with it.

Assuming the color is still present, I might try elephant wax.
Post some before and after pics. Would love to see how this turns out.
