Hi there I recently purchased two Bertoia bar stools with a matching table with glass top. I have been researching whether or not these are originals or reproductions and have been stumped by all the pictures online because they show only a single wire edging the seat whereas ours have two wires sandwiching the middle lattice. I recently read that this was the original design that Bertioa intended, but that the patent was already held so he was forced to change his design. I am wondering if there are any other clues to confirm if I have an early set or a repro? As well, if these chairs are as rare as I think, is there anyone who could give me information on the value / anyone who would be interested in making a serious offer on owning this beautiful set!

Hmmm
Sound like reproduction, since the early double-edge wire chairs were not produced as stools. Photos would help.

Those are Chinese knock offs . The Knoll wire chairs have a heavy piece of single wire. old ones still had one piece just thinner.

The very first Bertoia wire chairs had the double edge. You may come across them occasionally.

But LRF...
If it weren't for a WTF thread, the world would never have discovered the astonishing designs of Gianni Sacchetto di Frutta.
