I have what I believe is an original Dondolo rocker (with cloth webbing) in good shape from the 1950s and I am wondering what the identifying marks were so I can authenticate it. The chair has a burn mark on the underside which says, in part, ITALY. Also, any sense of value?

Hello JR. I assume we're talking about Verner Panton's Dondolo chair designed for Ycami Edizioni (Italy) in 1994? I've never heard about this chair with cloth webbing. Could you provide a picture, perhaps?

No, this is the Dondolo...
No, this is the Dondolo rocker designed in 1950 (I believe) by Luigi Crassevig. Replicas have been availablein recent years from Design Within Reach. You can find a picture at the link below.

Oh, I see. I've never heard of another chair called Dondolo and Panton's chair is a rocker too. Sorry, can't help you.

I love this chair, but sorry I have never seen a real one. Enjoy yours whether you're certain of its authenticity or not. It sounds very nice.

Dondolo
Hello,
I just bought a Dondolo chair by Luigi Crassevig and mine also has a mark that says Crassevig (although only the bottom half) and underneath Made in Italy,
Have you had any luck in proof of authenticity

Link didn't work for me...
I wouldn't be of much help anyway as I've never seen a vintage Dondolo in person. I would guess you've an authentic piece on your hands if the quality is up to snuff. Lovely chair.
