Yuck!
That is just awful. Maitland-Smith is a company that makes many similar "high-end" garish, opulent, and terrible things; Theodore Alexander is another one, the list goes on and on for sources for expensive import garbage for wealthy uncreative McMansion cul de sac hell neighborhood people, I think they all come out of the same factories in China, Vietnam, etc. where the environmental standards are slight and good labor is cheap...

Although the aforementioned sources mainly offer wood pieces, I'm just thinking categorically. The bright brass was much more common in the 90s than it is now, I think... I can imagine that sucker on super-plush hunter green wall to wall carpeting, yes?
and here's a $6000 foosball table for the basement of the underwater nightmare...

Why the basement?
I think they would go great in the same room. I like the idea of burnished wood against polished brass. And the hunter green carpet would give it a kind of alfresco feel. Maybe add a few tasteful urns as accent pieces. Haven't decided on the chairs yet. Suggestions?

The rec-room's usually in the basement, that's all.
I was/am seeing this as more of a "center table" for use in a magnificent foyer or perhaps in the midst of some very largely scaled upholstery. What is the diameter? 42?

Hmmm...
You sure that thing's not upside down?

yeah upside down
then it will be known as the GOBLET table.
WellI don't know!
I think it would look good next to a plaster owl full of holes with light coming out. At night.

Oddly enough
the thing has started to grow on me. It is so awful that I can't stop looking at it (and yes, the diameter is 42 inches). It came out of the home of two elderly people who were moving to assisted living. Their house was filled with hollywood regency stuff. There were two nice La Barge tables on each side of the couch. But the lamps were truly fearful - oversized with gigantic scalloped shades with gold trim, lots of crystals dripping down, and heavy "bronze" bases. Whatever else this table might be, I think it's mid century. I'd still love to know who made it - Mastercraft maybe?
