This is somewhat of a philosophical question, so I would love to hear some answers to what you think happened, when it happened, and why.
For awhile now, I've pondered when people (Americans especially), decided that quality products don't matter so much anymore.
I live in a growing area that still retains a lot of its rural roots and there is a local furniture store that sells some beautiful handmade Amish furniture (my favorite are their varieties of Chests that remind me of my Grandparents bedroom where I used to play hide and seek as a child.
Why do people continue to purchase press board products which fall apart after several years of use, in lieu of beautifully designed and skillfully executed items such as those?

"Amish-made" is such a joke, as if the Amish weren't just trying to make MONEY
evil buttons and whatnot ha
Oh but tell me more about your grandparents and hide and seek and your sister and fly fishing with Dad off the ol' stone bridge down by the wide peaceful river amongst the purple mountain majesty and all that noise
We'll have to burn the furniture to keep warm when Trump puts us all into camps
No, it doesn't matter. It really doesn't.
