Personally,I love Philippe Starck very much.He is really an incredible designer. You can see his work almost everywhere. It ranges from architecture to toothbrush. And his juice extractor is known to us all.I love him not only because of his beautiful design, but his attitude to design and life.Although his work is perfect in our eyes,he is never satisfied with himself. That's why he created so many amazing things and never stopped. What do you think of him and his design? And what your favourite designer or product?I'd like to communicate with you all.If you konw anything else about him, please don't hesitate to reply me.

My want list of Starck
Wen Xing,
I desire the full size WW (Wim Wenders) stool for Vitra and the Jim Nature televison by Thomson Consumer Electronics for SABA. A vintage set of OWO andirons and fireplace tools would be welcome.
Sure I like Philippe Starck. Then again, I like everything.

Wen, if you want to share pho...
Wen, if you want to share photos you need to go to a photo hosting site (like image shack, flickr, etc...) Upload your photos or the URL that has the photo and then copy and paste the direct link address to the hosted image in the text fields below entitled ("associated web images (optional)" which is right below the "your message" box.
If you just want to share a hyperlink to a page with photos, you can insert that in the "associated web link" field below or just copy and paste it into the text box and others can c&p in their address bar to view.
Hope this helps. I find your enthusiasm refreshing.
-Maria

Could you articulate what it is you like about that stool & television, Niceguy?
I consider that stool a remarkably bad design (and an eyesore to boot).

I am glad you asked
william-holden-caulfield,
I read your postings and consider them acurate and therefore also consider this to be a reasonable question.
I am a "collector" with many and varied desires (in my world that is all the reason required to buy either piece). To justify this purchase in my mind: I plan on occassion to display the WW stool with the Droog Lucky Cat pinball machine as functional and usable "art". I am not planning on either piece being a permanent feature (rotate in and out).
You also ask about the "obsolete" Jim Nature television and the thinking behind this desire. Within the last year I located and acquired the Brionvega Agol (MIB), Brionvega Cuboglass with aluninum case (MIB) and the Citterio, OXO cart for Kartell (a display piece). On occasion I use one of these in my bedroom (they function with cable and/or a HD convertor. And they are available for use in the guest room. The Jim Nature television would be a nice addition to the current collection for it's use in these limited capacities.
Both pieces are just another fun item of no real value, except to me. And the value is low. Each is a "target of opportunity".

I'm glad you replied,niceguy
You're really helpful.I love this two products too.And I also love Starck's another two designs, one is CHEESE GRATER/CELLAR,another is JUICY SALIF.His designs really attract me,they're artistic. But a lot of people who have used the JUICY SALIF complainted that it isn't convenient at all. What do you think of it?

Juicy Salif
Wen Xing,
I have all three: anthracite, gold, and chrome. They are nice to look at, but there are many more products on the market that produce juice more efficiently with very good design at a lesser cost.
I prefer cheese grators from the Twergi line by Alessi for show. For normal meal production I use the Rosle stainless steel grators. I would only have use for the Starck cheese grator on a patio or a picnic setting.
Just because I have little use for a product does not rule out acquisition. Storage for intermittent use is always possible.
Happy collecting. Everything you like and enjoy is good for you and you should always have more.

I'm not the biggest Starck fan...
...but there are a few pieces I like, such as the PH5030 watch and I also quite like this leather chair.
If we're really pushing the boat out, the little yacht he designed below is okay (for $300 million).
If you want to find out a bit more about the man himself, the TV series he did called 'Design for Life' is a good place to start. It gives a good insight into how he works and him as a person (not always a good thing). See link below for more info/review
