It is weird, I was thinking it was Turquoise, ( and I know there was a topic about that color before, but that shell looks different then this.. the only one I have seen close is that Rocker you see when you type in "Eames Turquoise shell"
but it is too green even for the Turquoise chart I have seen, but then too blue for Seafoam, and a faded Kelly Green would be more yellow... I have two Kelly green arm shells and although they vary a bit, they still sit well in the green with yellow undertone, not blue/green Plus if this was a faded color, it feels very uniform and no dark areas where light would never strike like with the Red/Salmon shells.
This is almost seems to be a "mint" color of sorts? I asked Herman Miller archive and they said Seafoam, but not sure about that. It feels too bright compared to the ones I see from the same period.
Anyone have a thought? Maybe I should check the Neuhart book.

Hi
I was following the auction as well. It does not look like the typical Turquoise, Kelly Green, or Seafoam Green. It could be a custom color, perhaps even less common than lavender.

Yeah, I am not sure. There ar...
Yeah, I am not sure. There are so many little variances in production color, effect of time on a color and how it looks on a computer screen, that unless you see it in person it is hard to say. based on the embossed HM logo I figure it is late 50s early 60s but man it seems to have a decent amount of fiber in it for that age.
But I feel like I have seen a similar color once before. Really hard to find anything about it online. I sort of prefer this to the Purple/Lavender 😉

Yeah I have the color...
Yeah I have the color charts, and some are slightly different based on how much age , yellowing they have. But even the most unaffected color charts don't have anything close. Turquoise was on a chart, but still too blue.
I got to look in the Eames Design Neauhart book to see if there was maybe a small run of special order colors.

Color Variation
I have three orange. One's a pinkish-orange with lots of visible fibers, one's a red-orange with lots of visible fibers, and one's a yellow-orange with very faint fibers and a dull finish. As far as my research goes, they're all considered "red-orange" on the color chart.
