Hi there,
I'm wondering if I've found a listing that is too good to be true.
This is the content:
"This is a limited edition (#42/50) KNOLL Leather chair, MODEL 55. It is from their museum series. Manufacture date is 2001. Has some wear from use, but in solid good shape. No tears or rips. Color in pictures is pretty accurate. Reddish leather."
and I'll attach the photos.
Maybe someone could help and let me know if Knoll actually reproduced a series of these in 2001? Would be so helpful!
Thanks so much.
Have you
telephoned Knoll?
By the way, the chair's been listed on Ebay pretty much continuously since at least October. No bids yet.

I plan on phoning Knoll...
I plan on phoning Knoll during business hours Monday to find out 🙂
Just wondering if anyone out there on these wild internets could help a girl out over the weekend.
And ya, I'm aware that the chair has been listed for quite some time.
Thanks for your comment, cheers!
Thanks
Tynellbuyer. I was just waiting for someone else to tell me I wasn't crazy, I suppose. Thanks for that 🙂
I realize the plaque has really got to guarantee its authenticity, but as a girl who has burned before (on a Chanel bag of all things) I've got to check all my bases.
It is a great price, almost too good, which had me doubting.
Thanks for bringing me back to my senses.
Best,
Sure. NOBODY ever fakes tags...
Sure. NOBODY ever fakes tags and it's totally reasonable that Knoll made an edition of only 50 armchairs, that there are no others that turn up on a google search, that the metal tag would be that worn in 11 years, and Knoll would have done such a piss-poor job on the upholstery. It's not like Modernica knocks off that chair or anything.
Knoll's site has it listed...
Knoll's site has it listed on their Museum Collection page.

Modernica has it listed on their lounge chair page.
