I've seen exactly the same chair somewhere else
It's a little different from the Cherner chair in the shape of the back. According to the seller it's a prototype of the Cherner chair. I sent an email to The Cherner Chair Company with the photo of the chair asking if it's authentic. They replied saying it's not a Cherner chair so I didn't buy it.

The prototype
The prototype of the Cherner chair was George Nelson Associates' Pretzel chair. Plycraft was contracted by Herman Miller to manufacture the pretzel, but it was too fragile. Herman Miller scrapped the project, and Plycraft turned to other designers to see if anything could be salvaged from the Pretzel. Cherner submitted his design, and then was told to go screw. Plycraft, meanwhile, continued to produce the chair.

more on Cherner
This is great information! I just saw 2 "cherners" - blond wood with black leather backs and seats - in a closed junk shop in the Hudson Valley. The guy wants $300 for the pair. Can´t wait to turn them upside down...

Recently
I recently saw that "American Attelier", a company out of PA who must have acquired a bunch of Plycrafts designs still makes the wonky "Cherner"esque chair.

AFter looking through all of this...
what do you guys believe this chair is? It's listed as a Plycraft but very hard to believe as the seat isn't so clean. Looks like a George Nelson Pretzel chair.
