Can't ID this floor lamp with a nice square shade. I like it and worry that it may be of the Pier 1 Imports kind...

Pier 1
Unfortunately, looks likes Pier 1 or something of that sort. Doesn't appear to be a quality designed piece. I could be wrong though.

Probably
Target or furniture store. It looks like it fits the decor well. A good start, and way (not definite) to tell if it's at least vintage, (like what would be on here mostly) is to examine the cord, and socket area. If the cord is thick, with a bulky plug, and silver prongs, it's almost always gonna be new. Vintage will have a thinner cord, and will always have brass prongs on the plug.
If the socket, and all fitting parts are mega shiny, it's almost always new. Usually if the socket has been replaced on a vintage lamp, the harp base will almost always be left below the socket, and it will be weathered, and dark from age. Sometimes the original harp will be left, but not always. It's not sure fire, but can be right 80% of the time, for the not so keen eye. It's at least a clue in helping determine if it's new or old, while your at a store wondering if you should buy or not.
