Man, these are fun. And nice to see Nancy Wilson period, but I have to say she would be as smoking hot on a hay bale as a Nelson marshmellow, far as I can tell.
To palanize, Riki, I'm afraid is already old hat, although the Republicans and the Democrats each hold to their own definition. Webster will in time hopefully figure it all out.
Since it's only a blur of a mugshot - no accessories showing save for the topcoat and swell neck scarf - I won't attach the image on Dylan's 1966 album cover of Blonde on Blonde, but that's the one I think of when I think of modern, or postmodern, forever just slightly out of focus, as it was, I suspect, and as it were.
Too many contributions to...
Too many contributions to mention here, but thank you all for making this a most rewarding thread. Interesting also to see the various interpretations of "design classics".
I had a closer look at the reprinted original liner notes of the "Swingin's Mutual" album (in my CD's booklet), and found this:
"Armchair on cover designed by Charles Eames ? Herman Miller Inc."
I also took another look at the "Something Wonderful" cover. Now that waistline is really something. Is it real? Could they even manipulate images that well in the late 1950s?
I hadn't seen that one....
I hadn't seen that one. Thanks for the tip!
I looked it up on Amazon, and found a similar but apparently slightly NSFW title called "Naked Vinyl - Bachelor Album Cover Art". One of the covers features a chair that I don't recognize, see below link (note: not safe for work).
Designer piece or no name?
