I find many others: Notcot, ApartmentTherapy, Design*Sponge to be very breezy and lacking in depth. Always throw pillows or Etsy finds or some clever little useless thing.
ApartmentTherapy in particular is sinking like a rock in a pond, which is a shame because they used to be very good. Now just overbloated with advertisements, stale recycled postings, and Z E R O depth to the postings. Also - the comments sections on ApartmentTherapy are full of nasty, snarky, bitchy, wanna-be design queens. (and that's coming from ME)

Weblists / social shopping
I find to be the most appealing, since opinions and comments are left to a minimum.

Lucifersum,
I find it very interesting that you say that, and generally agree for the most part. Though, in many cases I do tend to prefer posts without depth, as I am more entertained my visual quality rather then textual information. I definitely agree with AT becoming a feeding ground for snarky comments.
However, that being said - have you found any enjoyable design blogs in your surfing? I began the thread as a means to find new (to me) blogs with good content, and not ones that are sinking =[

Sorry to focus on the negative. There is a guy named Keith Smith who is a bookbinder/book-artist/book-art theorist. One of the most powerful lines I've taken from his works is: A collection of things is not a book.
Meaning: Simply compiling things together doesn't provide context or meaning. I think many bloggers are quick to go crazy on novelty and post lots of links, but few are willing/capable of putting these things in context in the greater design world. The internet is so flooded with information and accessibility to things that they become inaccessible without a proper road map.
I'm not saying it's easy - I failed at writing a blog very quickly.
As to which blogs I read most I've already answered: Design Addict...and I still haven't given up all hope on ApartmentTherapy. Most, but not all. 🙂

I am a DA elitist
This is the only place that gets any time from me. Nowhere else has ever been even remotely satisfying to read. Patrick and Alix have created something truly lovely here and I hope it lives a very long time. And yes, if I ever get ahead of my house prep I will start bloggin about my Santa Fe move. But right now I have to go paint my former office that is now being staged as a guest room....I don't really live here anymore I just play the homeowner on TV!
