My wife and I are currently looking for a credenza. We have come across a piece we like, claimed to be "1960's Danish". Here are pictures - please chime in if you recognize this piece as to manufacturer or designer. Associated question - there is like a frontispiece on the bottom of the credenza behind the front legs. Thoughts on originality and purpose? Thanks, Gary

From what I can see in the photos, the construction looks fairly low-end and probably late. These are two characteristics that suggest to me that it will be very hard to identify, and will probably lead to a manufacturer at best. It might also not be of Danish manufacture.

I agree with leif
This looks like a sideboard produced by a furniture manufacturer who jumped onto the Danish bandwagon around the 1960s.
But it's a lovely looking piece, and if it fits your budget and interior, then go for it!

PS. The panel behind the front legs is curious. I'd be interested to know if it has a structural purpose, or just decorative.

I assume the board adds support
helping to keep the front edge of the bottom of the carcase from sagging. Visually, though, it is completely unresolved and appears as afterthought.
