I am trying to get more information on a table I purchased at an auction recently with the idea of giving it to my college son for his apartment. When I got it home and upside down I noticed the label underneath and started doing research. I contacted Design Institute of America but they are under new ownership and do not have the serial numbers of older designs. The table is extremely heavy and solid and in great condition. It looks quite similar to designs by Milo Baughman, in the way the leaves pull out, however, the center panel flips around in an unusual way. I also am not sure the wooden panels are original but they fit in their space beautifully. (I couldn't find any other tables that combined the brass/glass with wood...) The legs are rounded on the outside, coming to a point on the inside (triangle shaped.) Center panel consists of dark, smoked glass. I am interested in finding out who designed it. Any leads or insight would be greatly appreciated.
