There is no bad publicity, especially for those that love the spotlight. Enter Phillipe Starck, who recently decried (in most cases correctly) everything he's ever done. But to what purpose?
The comments are especially fun 🙂
If a designer lives long enough
they usually appreciate their designs that continue to sell and are considered to still be good design long after they were created.
Some of the post-post Modern stuff was stuff of their own time and now that time has passed, some of it seems illogical or too precious for today's world.
It's amazing how fresh and modern items designed over 75 years ago still seem fresh and modern. Some of these older "modern" designs seem more modern than some of the items designed 15 or 20 years ago!
Media tantrum, at most....
Media tantrum, at most. Interesting since his declaration that design is dead (and I assume by this he includes his own) that he plans to carry on as he has for two more years, which means that not only will his tired production likely continue to be awful but now smell that way as well. Sorry to beat this here very expired horsey. But if one truly believes design is so dead, then why on earth not just ring the bell.
