Hi.

I'm a young aspiring designer with a penchant for collecting beautiful objects. I've recently decided to sell off my collection of mid-century pieces and jump forward about 60 light yrs. So my question is what young designers and which pieces are worth looking at if one has about $2400 to spend.

So far my personal short list has:

Konstantine Grcic - Chair One
Alain Berteau - Fence Chair
Jason Miller - Antler Table Lamp
Phillipe Starck - Limited Edition Gold Garden Gnomes

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

We tend to pay little attention to "new" designs on the forum, its a very good question,in many ways "mid century modern" collecting is still forming...

I would suggest some good Jasper Morrison, plan cabinets or the low pad chair.
AC is right, we're all old here and like old stuff. Which after reading threads in forums populated by gen y'ers I'm quite happy about.

Bubble Club by P Starck
for Kartel. Great outdoor furniture. Very Iconic looking in a modern retro kind of way.
