Fellow design addicts,
For some time now we have been considering the idea of hosting a meet-up for the members in the Mid-West region of the US. We have had the pleasure of meeting some D.A. members in the past and everyone has been delightful. We've had engaging conversations, and thought that it might be fun to get together for everyone to meet one another. We are pretty centrally located in the Chicago area so it might be a good place for folks to converge. We have a house that is well suited for entertaining and we would be happy to offer some drinks and snacks.
Before we move forward or start making plans, we'd like to gauge possible interest. If you are within driving distance of Chicago and might be interested in hanging out and visiting with other Design Addict members, please respond in this thread. if there is enough interest, we will pick a date that hopefully will work for most of those who would like to come. Who knows, if this turns out to be fun, perhaps other members will choose to initiate and host gatherings in their areas. I know D.A. members are from far and wide, but I also know that there are regions where several members hail from which might allow them an opportunity to socialize.

We are Charleston, West Virginia - Chicago is a bit far but it sounds lovely. Perhaps if there was an auction or some estate sales at the time...maybe, also, we wanted one day to visit Oak Hill Gardens.

I would be glad to make the 3 hour drive, it would be a pleasure to meet the midwest DA people.
I would like to suggest a show and tell session of some modernist design objects as well. I just found some NOS Rams-Braun items this weekend! Kind of like "what I found on my summer vacation" if you attended picker kindergarden!
I am sure you could make us weepy with your finds as well pegboard.
