I recently bought this daybed at a (very reputable) auction. It was catalogued as "design by Hans Wegner with manufacturer label showing the name "Relet".
Does anyone have any information about this brand. Or any other comments,
Help would be appreciated.
Simon

It's not a Wegner design but there has been a close relationship between Denmark and Japan for a long time as far as design goes.

Japan produced Danish Modern furniture---not in the quantity that Denmark did, and I'm guessing that they didn't export a lot of it just judging by how much I've seen over the years. But it's there.
There's a long-running show right now at the Designmuseum Danmark about this. I wish I could go!

Can you clarify where the Wegner attribution was listed for this lot? This listing wording looks perfectly fine to me, and does not attempt to confuse the bidders that this might be a Wegner design:

And upon examination of the three photos provided, it should be clear that this is not a Wegner design. If you squint your eyes and stand far away, the first photo might resemble a Getama daybed, But even squinting, the other two photographs clearly show that it is not.
If an employee at the auction house told you that this is a Wegner, then shame on him (her?), and you have every right to ask for your money back.

cdsikva - thanks for your comments, much appreciated.
This daybed was first sold in the auction that you provided a link to. It was then sold again here - https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/sworders/catalogue... - this is where I bought it.
Comments?
Thanks again.

It looks pretty clear to me that the second auction listing was intended to deceive or mislead, seeing as descriptive information known from the first auction was left out, and a spurious claim for a Wegner design was added in the second.
If you are unhappy with the daybed, then you have every right to expect Sworders to refund your money and take the piece back due to intentionally misleading description.
I am a little confused as to why you included photos from the first auction in your first post, and didn't initially clarify that you bought it at a subsequent auction.
As for comments of the piece itself: It looks okay from a distance, but the construction that can be seen in the close up photo looks to be lower end.

Yeah, if you are not happy with the daybed, you should definitely look at the terms of the auction. It is not a Hans Wegner.
