I found this chair for $5 on Craigslist. I liked the shape and thought it might be worth re-upholstering. I can't find any markings, the legs appear to be good quality teak. I seems like it is missing a back cushion. I'm new to Danish modern furnishings, can anyone help me ID this? Thanks.

Dux
Made by Dux and designed by Folke Ohlsson.
$5 is dirt cheap...but professional reupholstering is going to cost you!
It should have a small suspended headrest pillow.

Thanks for speedy ID
Thanks, for the ID. I was able to research the chair and see what it could look like if recovered. I guess it might be worth investing some $ into. The chairs seem to range in value from about $300 to $900.
Yes, I was very excited about my find. I also just missed a Heywood Wakefield nightstand on Craigslist for $15. Unfortunately the seller sold it to someone else.
Thanks again.

Correct
Yes it is a Folke Ohlsson chair.
I have the matching sofa. To fill in some more detail, I believe Folke was Swedish, living in the Bay area. I would consider the Dux line post 'Danish modern', but truly nice and well built pieces.
I believe the design went through at least one iteration, the depth of the seating body being deeper, but it is hard to find comprehensive info on Dux and Ohlsson.
btw, when I purchased my sofa, I did not know the value, but subsequently have seen sold versions from dealers for ~$2k. So your chair valuations are on the mark, imo....
Here is a reupholster job slide show: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/fabric-textiles/look-ann-reupholsters...

Thanks to all who replied
This forum is incredible! That link to the re upholstery job is perfect. I have tried upholstery before and am going to give this a try.
Thanks!
