Got this at Salvation Army for $12.99. 10 hours of labor and $15 worth of materials later. Finished in Watco Cherry.

I've got the same table but mine has MADE IN YUGOSLAVIA stamped into the bottom and it unfortunately looks like the first photo. Nice job on the refinish.

Thanks...it was an easy job, but time consuming. 9 hrs to get it done. Lots of stripping and sanding of individual slats! It works wonderfully in our living room. The flash on the camera kind of bleached out the look of the piece.

Is the Made in Yugoslavia a sticker or a branded stamp? There was neither on the underside of my table. I see there is an exact match slat side table on Ebay for a "Buy it Now" price.

Mine has no color at all and is pressed into the wood. An impression is how I would describe it.

Wow!
I'm surprised that the price was that high $12.99 in that condition but now after restoration it looks like a million bucks!

Some of the thrifts in the Ann Arbor area get a little ahead of themselves when they price things. I didn't feel $12.99 was bad, but I've come across pieces that are in rough shape that have obscene prices on them. I always talk them down with the "Frequent Buyer" excuse. They see me all the time and they know I spend $$, so more times than not they succumb to my will.
