Hello ,Can anyone tell me who designed this sofa? It is teak with vinyl cushions and bears marks " John Stuart Inc " , a " France and Sons" tag and is stamped " Made in Denmark " . Photos below. Thank you for any assistance!

As bj so subtlely states. Google is your friend 🙂
However, here's a little trivia about the sofa.
The designer is Ole Wanscher. The model no. 166. This was manufactured at France & Son (later CADO)
PJ Furniture (P. Jeppesen) manufactured a similar sofa i their "senator" series.
The first versions of the sofa only had an upper and lower beam in the back (Beam is not the right word for it, but I don't recall the english term)
The later version (all the manufacturers) had an additional beam in the middle. My guess, and I am guessing, is that they had problems with lacking support for the back-rest-pillows (again I don't know a better word for them i english, but you know what I mean)
Incidentally, the second picture is from a listing here on DA (not mine)

I think we'd probably call that a rail, and I am betting that they added one when they switched from back cushions with innersprings to solid foam cushions.  Latex foam is especially floppy and would need an extra rail for support.  Just my guess, though!

Now, now, Folks. If I was not in the know and saw that tag I would have a hard time making out the script and be left with FF to search for or John stuart which does not as readily turn one up. Sometimes great expertise blinds us to the basics. I liken it to an expert college professor who is not good at teaching the basics because he is so far removed from them.

glassartist, the OP already knew it was a "France and Son" tag, and was only inquiring about the designer. Not that I'm piling on, but Google would have yielded an answer more quickly than typing the original post.
To continue your college analogy, this is an example of minimal effort research on the student's part.

Well, the OP actually writes "France and Sons" in the first post.
As for John Stuart. He was a retailer. Google it 😉
EDIT
cdsilva beat me to it 🙂

Yeah, but the OP initially said it has a "France and sons" tag, which in my test is sufficiently accurate to get a google image hit at the twelfth image.

Thank you I_Love_Danish and Spanky for the information. I did google France and Sons but did not identify the designer and thought that this forum would be a great resource to tap into.
For those of you who also responded to my post but without anything to contribute to the conversation please consider simply not responding rather than taking time to disparage.
