Unfortunately,
I did not buy the lot together. The sofa was very cool, but I don't have the monetary funds for reupholstery or the space that would allow me make that purchase. The cushion was attached to the sofa and could not be removed. There wasn't anything stamped on the chair or the table. The seller said her father purchased them in Denmark while stationed there.
Construction
I don't know if seeing the contruction method helps authenticate that it is an Ostervig but at least I thought I'd try to see if everyone still felt the same. I'm about to get it reupholstered soon. Any suggestions on the fabric? I was thinking about going with a Maharam. Maybe one that Nanna Ditzel designed?
If Simon says it is Kurt Øste...
If Simon says it is Kurt Østervig for Henry Rolschau I don't think the question is whether he is right or wrong (Simon is always right). Nor is the question whether any of us agree.
The question is whether you can get hold of documentation so that you can prove what Simon says to someone else who doesn't know that Simon is always right.
I completely agree
I don't mean to question Simon or anyone else for that matter. Simply, my hope is to make the authentication just that much better. I am hoping by publishing more pictures that maybe Simon or anyone else can give more insight. Contruction methods change and maybe this contruction method could help to pin down a date. Perhaps Kurt only used these types of straps or joints or nails certain years?
Sadly I did not get the sofa.
I let Samsmodern buy it.
Seller decided to keep the table.

I've seen that webbing on
an American chair so it's not particular to one maker.
I would definitely go with a Maharam/Kvadrat wool! Modern-Fabrics.com has a bunch of Hallingdal right now in a variety of colors for only $38/yd. Just make sure you get enough--i think 4 yards is plenty, probably even 3 would do it but get 4 to be safe.
Hallingdal is a Nanna Ditzel design. Dunno if she did others--probably.
