We love vintage Danish furniture, rosewood and teak from the 50's 60's and 70's. So much so we are planning a trip to Denmark to look for a few items of furniture. We'd like to do a little research before we go and source a few big dealers and a well priced shipper. Can anyone suggest a few good calls, large shops, warehouses, trade calls or maybe even auctions. Also, a websites directory for these larger Danish furniture dealers would really help us make a few contacts before we go. ??

www.klassik.dkwww.kolmorgen....www.klassik.dkwww.kolmorgen.comwww.dmk.dkwww.houseofdesign.dkwww.permanentdesign.dk
These are among the best and for your comvenience the are all situated in the same street (Bredgade) in the center of Copenhagen
For auctions check www.bruun-rasmussen.dk and click "moderne møbler" - Bruun Rasmussen is also located in Bredgade.
When in Copenhagen you should visit the design center - www.ddc.dk.
Have a nice stay...

A few...
A few more:
www.hfpa.dkwww.kunst-salg.dkwww.moeblomania.dkwww.roxyklassik.dk (their new showroom is really a must see!).
I also suggest that you visit Copenhagen only. Here are plenty of vintage design shops (all the largest in the country) + you can take the train over to Malmö in Sweden (30 minutes) and visit:
www.dcentury.sewww.modernamobelklassiker.comwww.nirvanafurniture.com (has a HUGE warehouse in Malmö, very friendly, opens by appointment).
Then there's www.retromoderndesign.com, a huge store in Helsinborg (1.5 hours by train from Cph).
Also try seaching at www.Lauritz.com, an internet-based auctionhouse with several showrooms in and around Cph.
Don't forget to visit Kunstindustrimuseet also in Bredgade. It's one of the world's best and has a huge exhibition on Marimekko right now.
You should also check out these former threads: "Illums Bolighus" and "Things to do and see in Copenhagen".
