I just picked up these end tables that came from the Regal Auction house. They are marked "danish", have dovetailed drawers, and slightly splayed legs. What do you think?

OK. So I've found a couple matches that claim to be Kai Kristiansen as well as other with identical details (drawer pulls, materials, splayed legs, dovetails, etc.).
What do you think?

The lack of a dado slide surprises me. And the dovetails look a bit loose. Stylistically it does look a bit like Kai Kristiansen, but I wouldn't believe that on an internet attribution. I am inclined away from designer piece. But I could be wrong.

No designer
These elegant hall / bedside drawers have most likely been made by a good danish company that were supplying functional furniture WITHOUT the help of some big name designer.
I know its hard to believe but not all companies employed the well known architects that we all hope to own/ discover.
Many were simply run and making furniture that they created in-house.

I was thinking the same as far as having a designer attribution. Either way, I'm happy with them. They need a little bit of cleaning up, but they will work out great.

From my one trip to the Danish Regal auctions a couple of years ago, I did notice that they have a large number of unattributed well-designed but generic household pieces in addition to a decent selection of higher-end attributed designer pieces. Since these large auctions are comprised almost entirely of container-shipped pieces from Denmark, I'm guessing these generic pieces, which can be had for very cheap in Denmark, provide a lot of the space capacity and profit margin for Regal.
If I recall correctly, every lot went for a pricey sum to a small number of the bidders.

I was not the individual who bought them from Regal but I've heard the rumors of the ridiculous prices that pieces go for at Regal. I definitely didn't pay a pricey sum for them either so regardless, I'm happy with them and will enjoy them until I get bored of them.
