I stumbled upon this desk that looked interesting to me with an even more interested 'Made in Denmark' stamp. I'm just wondering if anybody has a clue as to who designed / made it.
Also, to the right was a drop leaf that attached on the right of the desk and held up by a flip up metal stretcher.

Well shit maybe I should...
Well shit maybe I should have scooped it up for $75. It was very rough on the right side though. The teak edge banding was destroyed and missing a hinge for the dropped leaf and the leaf was missing an entire teak edge band. I have too many projects at the time.

Hey man, I was the guy who ended up with it, apparently the lady in charge had sold it to 5 different people. not the most organized estate sale I've been to....
I'm wondering what to do with the John Stuart Desk, It was definitely lacquered over and/or painted. Underneath the lacquer it looks like the there is some nice walnut veneer. i might try to take it down to that and refinish it. I noticed you've posted on refinishing W/ stripper, any suggestions? I'll probably never get all of the old black off.
I've already dropped off the desk for professional restoration to match the teak siding. Figured it deserved it. the missing hinge was in the drawer under a bunch of crap.
Hope to see you around more MA estate sales!

Nice, we're you the person looking to buy it for your wife? Post up a few pictures of the John Stuart desk. I prefer to use Smart Strip. It's water based and odorless. You can buy it by the gallon on Amazon.
Definitely wasn't the most organized estate sale I've been to either, and too many people. There was some good stuff though.
