DWR on the rebound? From my perspective, definately looks like it. Offical Finn Juhl and Serge Mouille collections! Can't help it, but I'm cautious about these new collections. My devilish twin hopes this drags the original production prices down...oh go ahead and scold me, I can take it.
Right Direction
Having visited one for the first time in Palm Springs a few days ago I was some what taken back at the current design options that are offered. Plastic Eames chairs and the like, now I understand what you folks have been talking about for sometime.
Nonetheless, I figure it provides some an opportunity to purchase design that is within reach, sorry for the redundancy. May your weekend estate and thrift hunting provide you with some excellent finds this week. Lenox
+1 on the Baker sofa. I've...
+1 on the Baker sofa. I've been told only 25 original Baker production pieces were made (any truth to that?). Went to DWR's website, strangely, the Baker sofa looks like it's no longer available for order? If you visit the OneCollection/Hansen & Sorensen website, you'll see more Juhl pieces in production (see extremely rare wall mounted sofa & Model 57!!!). I'm sure they'll eventually make their way to the DWR catalog.
It looks like proportions were adjusted. Particularly the Chieftain & NV 45 seem narrower and without the robustness of the original...could be wrong as I'm comparing photos.

My catalog just arrived yesterday (which the mailman seems to have dragged through a puddle first) and I totally caught the Womb leg thing. I think it's the way the shadow jumps back and sort of melds into the leg.
Beautiful catalog for the most part. I've found a new unobtainable thing to lust after: Serge Mouille. Won't it look fabulous next to my equally non-obtainable tan leather Ox Chair?
