Hi,
Question about DKRs. I was looking at the pictures of the DKRs in the famous "Eames design" book, comparing them to the pictures in an auction on ebay. I noticed that the support bracket (which the base attaches to) is different. In the book, the bracket is square and on the chairs in the auction, it's more of a chunky T (fourth picture down for good view of bracket). Sometimes the pictures in the book are of early versions of the chairs, so does anyone out there know if the design of this bracket changed, or are these ebay chairs manufactured by a Herman Miller imposter, seeking to escape copyright infringement by altering the design?
These DKRs are really DKXs
DKR
dining height k-wire shell r-wire base
(r-wire would refer either to the eiffel tower, or low rod base, depending if it is dining height or lounge height)
The chairs featured in this auction are actually specified as DKX
dining height k-wire shell x-base
Check the not-for-profit site www.eamescollector.com, all the designations are specified if you check out "the collection".

actually LKX
I just noticed those X-Bases in the auction look to be the lounge version, as they appear lower with a more relaxed seating angle.
