I was just in a thrift store and saw a ceramic tooth brush holder for a bath room that had a ceramic grate quite like the one we have proposed for the flower vase. The grate on this tooth brush holder was a separate piece that laid on top. Still, file this under the human mind is not so much progressing as rediscovering what it has already forgotten. In evolutionary biology, there is a name for two organisms that start out quite different and that coincidentally evolve toward each other morphologically and evidence significant similarity, because they are trying to exploit similar opportunities in context, even though they remain distinctly different species. Wish I could think of it. I think it loosely fits here. Arranging tooth brushes. Arranging flowers. I guess the persons who come up with grates for design solutions are "the grate keepers" of arrangement. 🙂
My Beef Here Is :
Since spending a lot of money on just such a nice porcelain toothbrush holder, the toothbrush designers have decided to make toothbrushes fatter and fatter, and they now only fit in the part of the toothbrush holder reserved for the toothpaste.
Fortunately for me, the toothpaste manufacturers have also come up with free-standing toothpaste 'dispensers' so the space is vacant anyway.
..and so design evolves ......
😉
