I am working on a project which requires some custom hardware. I don't know if I just need to go to a machine shop and have it made there or if there is a company that might be suggested who focuses on this very thing. I am speaking of pulls and cabinet type hardware, by the way.

I have found a few companies that look like they may or may not produce items to specifications; this becomes especially dicey when it comes to the materials that a given establishment works in. It seems an obstacle to find, for example a shop that will both make my part, and do it in stainless; or at least anything other than brass.

Does anyone here know where I might look?
Thanks~David

If the
shop can produce what you want in brass -- this is a good base material ofr such pieces. Much cabinet hardware is plated brass. Get the texture that you want on the brass (smooth, brushed, etc) then have it plated as a second step, at a different facility.
Good luck.

This is
an image I made to illustrate the piece I'm am looking for. I wish to find the curved part extant and not be required to have the silly thing made. The specifications given are desired, but not critical; some variation from these may be tolerable. The tapped hole is needed only at one end as the other will be welded to a flat bar.
I have looked at a number of hardware dealers online, but I have yet to discover anything quite like this.
Thanks for any ideas! ~ David

Ahh...
Thanks, SDR, for that suggestion about having it made in brass and then plated. This would make things a lot simpler indeed!

How many will I need?
Haha, many, I hope. To begin with however, I will need only 4 per unit. (low table) And this is a proto-type, so the answer is four.

well
here is how i see it. i have a very capable welder that could do that job, but imo, he is an anomaly.
a machine shop is geared towards higher volume, and normally doesn't have equipment to bend wire rod. i could be wrong though. maybe they have something that can do it.
better than a machine shop is a sheet metal fabricator.
a wire fabricator would have the gear to make the radius, but might not like stainless, or drilling/tapping the end.
you could try a wrought iron fence fabricator, but they also might not be able to deal with the stainless.

Yes, I still will need them,
I'm just not sure when. I am not to that stage in the project yet, I am just trying to gather resources in advance. One approach I have thought of was to locate some extant ring, and cut the 90 out of it, but I can't find anything like this either! I have looked at a 12 ton pipe bender which accepts up a 2 inch diameter pipe, but I don't know it this enough to bend even 3/4 inch dia. solid stainless rod.
So as you can see, I am still at a bit of a loss here. How exactly might you help me Xela? As I said, I'm not ready, but please tell me what's on your mind.
Thanks! ~ David

If your quantities is only...
If your quantities is only 4pcs, I suggest you to make with CNC milling machine. What is function of the threaded end? I think around 25mm deep could be drilled on the hole. Please consider any force apllication the end.
Regards,
Xela
