I recently scored an eames rocker at a garage sale for $60 and I have a couple of question. The man told me that the base was an original, but with so many repro's out there, is there any way to tell if it's real? Also, the shell doesn't have any stamp on the bottom of it. Did herman miller make the shells without the stamps on it? Could it be that there was only a paper tag that may have fallen off? Any help would be appreciated! Oh yeah, I also got a green eames side chair on an H base at the same sale for $20!
original
well hello,
the rockers look original to me, they look fatter than the new ones.
about the shell, herman miller also made them without any stamp, some of them were just with a sticker with the diffrent patents. but the sticker so often wears off. i dont know the era when they were made actually. but quite old i think, around 57-60 model.
congratulations i think its good.....

thanks everyone...
Thanks for all the input. I'm a college student majoring in interior design and always dreamed of owning an eames molded plywood chair and then one of the rockers. Who would have thought my first two significant finds would be those exact two? And the best part is I only paid $110 for both.
