A long ago thread, I heard about 3d printed food and wondered if it could be used to make the vase, from the radio interview it seemed it was a fairly fast process, just googled 3d printing clay and this popped up...

what Koen De Winter, our resident ceramics expert, would say about the use of printers in "assembling" clay for kiln firing. Is there any intrinsic reason why the method wouldn't work successfully ? The clay would have to be wet enough to bond to itself as successive tiers of material are laid on; the photo of the hollow pyramid shows what looks like a perfectly smooth outer surface . . .
