Rounding off my collection (I think), is this cute little gadget...made in "Occupied Japan" sometime in the 40's. It's a wind-up, and the little birdy acts as the second hand as it moves back and forth, while the minute and hour are on the ball thingy in the cage.
I believe pretty much the same item was produced in Germany at the same time. I think these were export trinkets the Allies got them to produce to help get their economies back on track following the war.
They would have been nothing more than inexpensive novelty items at the time, but they sure don't make crap like they used to...marble base, nice metal fittings, well put together.

Hey....found a couple more hiding in the kitchen...the bulova Alarm is kinda modish sexy....and the old one on the top is my grandmother's Westminster chime (chimes are outstanding, but I keep the clock off).

oh no
out of design dimensions on many levels.
garish and odd. (cheap graphic ideas)
the clock that Riki posted above, the 'eye' is interesting...
though a bit spooky....

Some cool clocks!
Clocks are a favourite subject of mine!
Here is a classic Braun design. A Braun type 4780/ABK20. Others in my collection are NOT designer/design classics but are classics in their own right!
