I recently had a chance to look over these bar stools that are coming up for auction soon. They have a branded mark on the bottoms, but they are faded and very hard to read. The only words I could make out were "Made in Denmark" and "stolefabrik". Do any of you know who made them and/or when? I've been searching the web, but not seeing anything like them...

Post a good photo of the mark. It wouldn't be surprising if someone here knows what it says even if it is illegible.

I may be able to get back out there later this week, and get a pic of the brand.
If not, caution will probably be thrown to the wind, and I'll be in there bidding anyway...

Stools identified...! Vilhelm Wohlert
I went ahead and bought them, and got a better look (and a pic, which see) at the most legible brand. Once I saw "Odense" I did some more web research, and found several examples attributed to Wohlert.
I may add these to the "last acquired" thread... They're a GOOD score for me!

The design is even on the danish furniture index. And they certainly do look like something that Vilhelm Wohlert would have designed.
