I am looking for some coat hooks or rack to put in my hallway, due to space it cannot be free standing and must be attached to the wall, my first choice was the Aalto clothing rack 109 however it is to wide to fit in the space, ideally I need something around he 50 ? 60 cm in width, any suggestions welcome

Pete

Thanks jesgord 🙂
I have been looking at these, it looks great and would fit size wise however I?m a little unsure about hanging coast on the balls, I always try to hang cost by the tab or chain just below the collar, unfortunately the size of the balls would prevent this and I?d be concerned about stretching / leaving and impression in the material, especially if damp or the coat is leather

Wood and aluminum wall racks...
Wood and aluminum wall racks like these come up on ebay fairly often. They come in different lengths, with different amounts of "knobs" and not all have hangers like this one
There's also the blu dot coat rack which has a nice simple design
and finally, amongst my favorites, the vintage Mathieu Mategot Coat Rack
(not sure if something like this would fit in your space

The Mathieu Mategot is lovely, I havent seen one of those before, are they quite hard to find?
The blue dot looks great, the white would fit really and it is a nice price however I think it is a little bit to long, havent been on their site before they have some excellent gear

The genuine Mategot racks...
The genuine Mategot racks can get expensive. That said, many coat racks were done in this style and come up on ebay from time to time. This one from the Netherlands, produced by Artimeta went for @$71.00 on ebay.
If you are looking for something simple/unobtrusive and inexpensive, this basic Umbra flip down rack isn't bad

Check out Ikea
I'm not a fan of Ikea furniture, but accessories like coat hooks - as well as their WONDERFUL book ends - is where Ikea really excels.

ona
Maybe this one. I like the 'Ona' by Mobles 114 but it's probably a bit too large for your need.

Thanks guys:)
I like the idea of retractable hooks, it would allow me a lot more choice in where i could fit it, the walnut would match the floors also
I did consider individual hooks these form Magis really caught my eye

Artek
has a nice nice wall mounted rack, as well as a nifty coat tree.
Right now, Artek doesn't have a U.S. distributor, and I don't know if either of these were sold in the U.S.

These French (40s or 50s at a guess) coat racks are still fairly easy to get hold of - the hooks actually slide which can be quite handy, also they can be very easily cut down to fit a space.
The Aalto rack above is very nice but I think this may be the one that's too big?
