I recently just purchased (2) Eames rope edge arm chairs in parchment color. They are beautiful and in over all great condition minus some shock mount bleed through and a few black paint scuffs. What is the best and most gentle way to clean these scuffs? I realize the shock mount bleed through is there to stay. I found a thread on cleaning white shells and someone says something called 'Awesome'? Also says something about paint thinners? (can this be true? Sounds all sorts of wrong..) I also know not to use abrasives. Just a regular cotton rag and soapy water? Are orange based cleaners too oily? Goo gone etc? Thank you for your help!
